Blossoming Artists Gallery, Midtown next exhibit with Leah Carroll

‘Drawn to Detroit’

Detroit -- One of Detroit’s most prized neighborhoods is gaining a new addition to its gallery district with the relaunch of Blossoming Artists Gallery in Midtown. Located on Third Street and Willis, the space previously featured high-end pieces by major artists. In its new form, Blossoming Artists will feature the work of up-and-coming artists from Detroit, New York and abroad. The gallery will showcase and sell the work of a different artist each month, at prices hipsters can afford.

Blossoming Artists partners Norman Silk and Dale Morgan are excited about the Midtown gallery and its focus on local artists. “Blossoming Artists is an art space that will feature the best and most creative of local ‘eMERGING’ artists, including student work,” said Silk. “Our goal is to offer exposure to creative art at affordable prices.”

Organizing the mixed-media gallery space is Managing Partner and Curator Timothy Price. Price served as operations manager in the early years of Movement Music Festival, and lived in Germany for 10 years while managing electronic music artist Richie Hawtin. He is currently working with Corktown Experience to launch an exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum called The Journey to Now about the 19th-century Workers’ Row House in Corktown, which the team plans to repurpose as a community hub and cultural center. Price is excited about Detroit’s renaissance and wants to draw on his background in the music industry to help promote fine arts and culture in the city”

“We plan to use the gallery to help launch and promote some really talented artists,” Price said. “There’s a lot of talent here in Detroit, and we want to bring some national and international artists in, too. People will be able to buy the art itself, and other merchandise as well. We’ll be working with photographers, digital artists, illustrators, and many more.”

Leah Carroll’s - ‘drawn to Detroit’ exhibit opens on Friday November 8th, 2019 with a reception that  evening from 6:00 - 8:00pm

Blossoming Artists Gallery is located in the rear of Blossom’s Midtown, located at 4152 Third Avenue @ Willis Street in the heart of midtown Detroit.
